Tom McDonald

is Senior Vice President of Environmental Affairs and Sustainability, Five Rivers Cattle Feeding

Tom McDonald is Senior Vice President of Environmental Affairs and Sustainability for Five Rivers Cattle Feeding, LLC.   He has technical knowledge and practical experience with sustainable environmental systems for beef cattle operations.  He is responsible for environmental systems design and compliance for thirteen beef cattle feedyards spanning six states and four EPA regions.  He received his B.S. degree in Animal Science from West Texas A&M University and his M.S. degree in Beef Cattle Production and Management from the University of Tennessee.  McDonald currently serves as chairman of the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association’s environmental working group and past chairman of Texas Cattle Feeders Association.  In addition, McDonald serves on the board of the U.S. Roundtable for Sustainable Beef.  McDonald, a third-generation rancher, oversees his family’s ranching enterprise in eastern New Mexico.  The time he spends with his family caring for the cattle and natural resources, and enjoying the land, has shown him the importance of conserving our natural resources for future generations.  In addition, he understands the challenges facing small, family farming and ranching enterprises.
